THE DAILY NEWS BREAKDOWN

31st August 2010

To no one's surprise did the announcement come that BAM! Festival got cancelled.

BAM!

Crazy shit right? I mean, people just weren't willing to pay $200 to see a bunch of no name bands play somewhere outside Brisbane over 3 days. Insanity. Even after their amazing 2-for-1 ticket offer they had going on. Let this be a lesson to people getting government grants to start their own two-bit festivals: It's just not worth it.

If were were BAM! here's 3 things we would have done differently:
1. Instead of having a festival 45 minutes outside of Brisbane in a field have it in a small to medium sized venue in the inner city.
2. Instead of charging $200 dollars for 3 days have it over a weekend and charge people $20 entry.
3. Instead of getting shit bands to play book bands that people would actually want to see.
Crazy right?

You ain't in an indie club unless some semi-obscurish track from the 80s gets played, usually by some douchebag dj with a Wu Tang Clan or Godspeed You! Black Emperor t-shirt. They'll probably play Video Killed the Radio Star by The Buggles because they claim they love that song.
Well now you don't have to hang out at these clubs or listen to WSFM to it, you can see The Buggles in concert!
Turns out Trever Horn (who?) will join Geoff Downs (who?) and Bruce Woolley (who?) for a special one-off at The Supper Club in London. Yay!
What's the best part? VIP tickets are £300 + b/f and GA is £100 + b/f . Talk about value for money!

In a further comedic development to the already hilarious Guns 'n Roses tour Axl has picked up KoRn as national support.
They're even playing in Townsville. What a show that'll be.

GnR KoRn

Clipse are playing the Meredith Festival as you probably know. They're doing a Sydney sideshow on the 12th December at the Metro. Booya.

Are Primal Scream playing the Big Day Out? Are they performing Screamadelica? Watch this space.

Screamadelica

What's awesomer than Die Antwoord and Aphex Twin performing together? Nothing. That's what.
